iGoogle is a service of Google formerly Google Personalized Homepage and Google IG. iGoogle is a customizable AJAX startpage much like Netvibes, Pageflakes and My Yahoo! iGoogle supports the use of specially developed "gadgets" to display content on a user's page. The gadgets are designed to be shared with family and friends.

iGoogle would be important for the classroom because it offers many features that would be beneficial for everyone involved in the educational field. Many useful features are word and quote of the day, weather and news update, email, you tube presentations and you can do searches.

iGoogle would impact student learning because students will be able to get the valuable resources through this internet tool. Students will be able to watch presentations on you tube on practically anything such as learning how to play the ukeleli. iGoogle can provide inspirational quotes for student success and well as brain games to strengthen your IQ. The possibilities are endless with iGoogle.

LearnOutLoud

LearnOutLoud is an internet tool in which you can browse over 15,000 educational audio books, MP3 downloads, podcasts, videos. You can learn a variety of subjects from a person's biography, history to politics. This internet tool would be an effective resource in education because as an educator you can search through this site and pick out a subject that you can learn about and actually listen to it.

LearnOutLoud is important for the classroom because it offers a wide variety of educational materials. Just imagine if you were trying to teacher your students a foreign language. You would use a product known as Learn Language Now! It provides the learner to "see and hear" the word of a language as a native speaker pronounces them and tests you. Learn Language Now! combines text, images, sounds, and videos for an interactive mulitmedia immersion into a language. It also includes hundreds of activities to comprehend, converse, pronounce, read, and write in a foreign language. This would be a perfect resource for teachers to have students learn a language of their choice!

LearnOutLoud would impact student learning because it also provides many children books with CDs that can be incorporated into units for you to use in the classroom. I also came across children's books that would be beneficial for me to use in my classroom. One story in particular that provides a CD to listen to is Angry Octopus by Lori Lite. She has many books being offered. This book focuses on effective stress and anger management. Since, I transferred to another school in the Guam Public School System I have experienced many students who are constantly being referred to the principal or counselor due to getting into a fight. I had one student lash out at me for no apparent reason. This book would personally help me in my classroom.

There is a variety of subjects to explore and listen to on LearnOutLoud that an educator is bound to find something that they are interested in and use in their classroom to teach their students with.

Teacher Tube

Teacher Tube provides teachers, schools and home learners an educationally focused, safe venue to upload, tag and share videos worldwide; attach support files such as assessments, lesson plans, and notes; browse hundreds of videos uploaded by community members; find, join and create video groups to connect with people who have similar interests. Teacher Tube is an equivalent to YouTube with educational material that you can use in the classroom provided that you have access to a computer and internet. Teachers can use this free resource to search for videos by subject known as "channels" on the site. There is a wide variety of channels to choose from like science, lesson plans, multiplication and amazingly the Magna Carta. Teacher Tube allows educators to bring their classroom to life.

Teacher Tube would be an effective resource in education and important for the classroom because the site provides a variety of "channels" that teachers can choose from to use in their classroom to enhance the learning experience. As educators, we all need to keep up with the age of the digital learner.

Teacher Tube will impact student learning because whatever the teacher finds most beneficial for to teach in their classroom they can find in Teacher Tube. It also goes the same with what students would like to learn.
